According to what was seen at the recent Couture and JCK shows in Las Vegas, the big stories in jewelry trends include: body jewelry, opal-essence, technicolor, geometric shapes, pure fantasy and one-of-a-kind pieces.

Body Jewelry
People are looking for unique ways to express/adorn themselves and body jewelry in the form of ear cuffs, mid-knuckle rings, two-finger rings, and body chains allow for comfortable experimentation.

Opal-essence
Were opals ever out of style?? No, but this season you will see more free form and organic shapes being used. Boulder and fire opals seem to be the most popular with designers.

Technicolor
Combining vibrant colors, cuts and shapes in a single piece is where the action is at this season for gemstones.

Geometric Shapes
Architectural, streamlined and geometric designs begin to overshadow the more fluid pieces we saw last season.

Pure Fantasy
Pieces that have a fairy-tale like presence and larger-then life feel make up this trend. You will see a variety of flowers, fauna, bugs, snakes and butterflies in multi-color gemstones and gold!

One-of-a-kind Pieces
Personalized pieces have grown in popularity this season and the desire to have exclusivity is still strong for jewelry buyers.
